Foreign workers for logistics and warehouses
Warehouses, distribution centres and courier companies need handlers, loaders-unloaders, forklift operators and stock-keeping staff for flows that never stop. These occupations are on the Lista ocupațiilor deficitare (List of shortage occupations) approved by MMFTSS Order no. 1.073/2026 and can be filled by workers from Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, the Philippines, Vietnam and many other countries in Asia, Africa and other regions with a D/AM2 visa. We recruit people used to physical work, scanners and warehouse management systems.

What employers in logistics and warehouses usually ask for
- Groups of 10–40 handlers per warehouse, with additions in peak periods (Black Friday, winter holidays).
- 2–3 shift schedules, 7 days a week in large distribution centres.
- Indefinite-term contracts; employers look for stable staff with low turnover.
- Accommodation organised by the employer near the logistics park, with shift transport, because warehouses are usually outside the cities.
- A limited number of qualified forklift operators alongside the manual handling staff.
Specific employer obligations
- Forklift operators: qualification and authorisation to operate forklifts according to the ISCIR regulations in force; the situation is checked on the filing date and, if necessary, the course and authorisation are organised in Romania before working on the equipment.
- Load riggers: specific training and authorisation for working with lifting equipment.
- Occupational health and safety (SSM) training in a language the worker understands (manual handling of loads, warehouse traffic, high racking) and protective equipment provided by the employer.
- Medical clearance for physical effort and shift work; for cold-storage warehouses, fitness for work at low temperatures.
- Basic skills with scanners and WMS systems; training on the employer's system is done at the workplace.

Frequently asked questions, Logistics and warehouses
The occupation "stivuitorist" (forklift operator, 834403) is on the shortage list, but operating a forklift in Romania requires authorisation under the ISCIR regulations. If the worker does not hold a recognised authorisation, they can be hired and trained/authorised in Romania before operating the equipment; until then they cannot work on the forklift. We check the authorisation requirements on the application filing date.
Yes, through fixed-term contracts or as seasonal workers (if the activity is seasonal in nature), with a permit of maximum 180 days in 365. Given that the recruitment and visa process takes a few months, planning must be done in advance. For seasonal workers, accommodation is mandatory.
At least the national gross minimum base salary guaranteed in payment: 4,325 lei gross from 1 July 2026 (GD 146/2026), for a full-time contract. The salary must be paid into the worker's bank account, not in cash. Allowances, overtime and any bonuses apply in the same way as for Romanian employees.
For permanent workers it is not mandatory, but in practice most employers provide it, because the workers arrive without housing and without local knowledge. If you provide accommodation against payment, the rent cannot exceed 25% of the worker's net salary (art. 7 para. (2) of GEO 32/2026). For seasonal workers accommodation is mandatory (free of charge or against payment, with a notarised declaration regarding accommodation).
Occupational health and safety (SSM) training must be done in a language the worker understands, and protective equipment is provided by the employer. In practice, materials in English (or in the language of origin) and translated training sheets are used. Training records are kept in the same way as for any employee.
Not in the first 6 months from the start of the activity (registered in REGES-ONLINE). After 6 months and up to 2 years, a change of employer can only be made through the placement agency that is a party to the placement contract. Exception: serious breach of obligations by the employer (art. 40 of GEO 32/2026).
