What employers in agriculture usually ask for

- Seasonal hires (max. 180 days in 365) for harvesting and picking or indefinite-term contracts for livestock and greenhouses.

- Accommodation on the farm or in the village, provided by the employer; mandatory for seasonal workers.
- Tractor drivers and agricultural mechanics for modern machinery, alongside unskilled staff.
Specific employer obligations
- Unskilled workers do not need a formal qualification; experience in agriculture and fitness for physical outdoor work are required.
- Tractor drivers: the authorisation requirements (driving licence for the relevant category, recognised in Romania) are checked on the filing date; until the necessary documents are obtained they cannot drive machinery on public roads.
- Occupational health and safety (SSM) training in a language the worker understands regarding machinery, plant protection products and working with animals; protective equipment provided by the employer.
